新一期跟Vlog学英语来啦。这一期想给大家推荐一位加拿大华裔女孩@Leah's Fieldnotes。
她出生于中国深圳，3、4岁时在父母离婚后，随母亲到了加拿大。虽然很小的年纪就出国了，但Leah的中文非常好，这一点真的很让人感到亲切。
她的视频风格清新、文艺、灵气十足，每次看她的视频内心都会感觉平和与治愈。
这一期想推荐她一则关于日常习惯的视频。与那些动辄凌晨5：00 起床、5:30开始健身的morning routine相比，她分享的习惯都很简单、日常、零成本，因而也更加真实。只要放下手机，其实我们都可以做到。
这期视频本来是Leah在新年之际制作的，正好我们马上进入6月，即将迎来2025年的下半年，也将迎来新的篇章，希望这则视频能给大家的生活带来一些启发~

如何表达「不开心」？
Sometimes I'm just feeling quite glum, so I give myself a choice, some simple habits I know will boost my mind without even needing to step out of my bed.
🪴glum [ɡlʌm] 为形容词，指「闷闷不乐的」(if someone is glum, they feel unhappy and do not talk a lot)，可以替换幼儿园词汇unhappy。
feel glum 便表示「闷闷不乐」。
我们再来看个美剧《绝望的主妇》里的例子：
Don't look so glum. You'll get a hit.
我们再来看个《经济学人》里的例子：
Some countries’ citizens have remained glum even as GDP per person has risen, a paradox noted by Richard Easterlin, an American economist.
美国经济学家理查德·伊斯特林）指出了一个矛盾现象：在一些国家的人均GDP增长的同时，民众却仍然闷闷不乐。
近义词还有：blue, dejected, depressed, despondent等等。
🪴 boost one's mood 指「提振某人的心情」。
谈到食物、锻炼等等的好处时，我们都可以用到这个词。
就拿锻炼举个例：
There is a wealth of evidence-based research that shows exercise helps people cope with everyday worries and boosts mood.
大量基于证据的研究表明，锻炼有助于人们应对日常烦恼并改善情绪。
🪴 step out of one's bed 指「下床」。
我们还可以说roll out of bed，get out of bed 等等，都可以表示「下床」。
这些很简单、很日常的生活表达，很多我们都不会说，这个时候就可以通过看剧、看vlog来积累，
我们再来看几个例子：
I just sort of rolled out of bed.
You'd wake up in the morning feeling you didn't want to get out of bed.

如何表达「有紧迫感」？
I used to feel a sense of urgency this need to seize this year ahead with the most efficient and rigorous plan I end up overwhelming myself and just lose motivation.
🪴 a sense of urgency 指「紧迫感」。
🪴 seize [siːz] 为动词，指「抓住，把握」机会、时机、主动等。
seize the year ahead 指「抓住未来的一年」。
英文里还有一个词组：
Seize the day! 指「把握当下，珍惜每一天」。
我们再来看几个例子：
No more hiding. Date, I got to seize my moment!
Why did we wait ? Why didn't we seize the moment!
🪴rigorous [ˈrɪɡərəs] 为形容词，指「严厉的，严格的」，相当于strict, stringent。
the rigorous plan 即「严格的计划」。
我们再来看个美剧里的例子：
You agreed to follow a rigorous meal plan.
考研英语二2020年Text 2也考过这个词: By most measures, corporate governance has become a lot tighter and more rigorous since the 1970s. 从大多数方面来看，公司治理自上世纪70年代以来大幅度收紧趋严。
